Help us Build Our New Native Plant Nursery in Goleta!
Channel Islands Restoration grows thousands of native plants for restoration projects, and we are taking the big step of moving to a new location that can accommodate our expanded needs. We have rented a 21,000 square foot greenhouse space in Goleta, and it’s a real fixer upper! Everything but the greenhouse structure needs to be bought, built, or donated so we can move in and start growing plants for restoration projects happening this year.
From ground cloth to shade cloth, to irrigation supplies and garden carts, everything is needed to build a professional grow facility! Please look at the list below and see if you can either donate any of the items needed or sponsor them with a cash gift. For instance, you can help us pay for the 14 rolls of shade cloth for $1,400. You can sponsor the building of one out 20 nursery tables we need for $400 each. You can cover the cost of 10 solar powered lights for just $150. Some items can even be donated, like used outdoor furniture, so volunteers and staff have a place to take a break.
Every dollar or item you donate will go directly into growing native plants for habitat restoration projects, and this is an excellent opportunity to support CIR at such a critical time when we need public support the most! Please support this exciting project and directly support habitat restoration!
